AUTHOR’S BIO
Richard Lane Church is a writer, photographer, and the author of the new novel The Night the Cats Left Socorro.
He attended St. John’s College to study philosophy via the Great Books Program but took the long road to finally earn a bachelor’s degree in Marketing decades later. He enjoys reading novels in romance, spy, crime, speculative, and literary fiction; and is a strong proponent of lifelong learning. Richard believes that everyone has something unique and valuable to teach, including children and pets.
His work life gave him many opportunities to learn to understand people, first as a construction worker and later in outside sales and marketing. In the latter, in addition to tens of thousands of face-to-face meetings, he wrote marketing materials and newsletters, participated in business associations, and presented to large groups. He also designed and created content for over 150 websites.
A California native, he lived in New Mexico for several years before settling down in El Paso with his wife and two spoiled dogs. Their one-hundred-year-old brick home overlooks Juarez, Mexico.
